Being an executive assistant for C.A. Varian has given me a unique behind-the-scenes look at the world of writing and publishing, which fuels my passion for storytelling. As an avid reader, I constantly find inspiration in the books I devour, whether they're in the same genre I want to write or something completely new. Balancing the demands of my role with my own writing aspirations can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly motivating. Every day, I’m surrounded by creativity, which pushes me closer to realizing my dream of becoming an author myself.
About Me
Hi! I’m Jessica, born and raised in the heart of Alabama. For the past year, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of being author C.A. Varian’s assistant, where I've learned the ins and outs of the writing industry under her expert guidance. Before that I spent 15 years as a graphic designer for a local newspaper.
I’m an avid reader—whether it’s traditional books, Kindle, or audiobooks, you’ll always find me juggling multiple stories at once. Dark romance holds a special place in my heart (think: touch her and die vibes!), but lately, I’ve been branching out into other genres, especially Romantasy. Because let's be real, once a Twilight fan, always a Twilight fan.
When I’m not diving into stories or working behind the scenes, I’m busy being a mom to my four amazing kids—Carter, Atticus, Kennedy, and Cecilia—while also wrangling my three cats, Tux, Bear, and Marco, and my dog, Maggie. You may also find me daydreaming about the beach, where I can get lost in the waves and the pages of a good book.
And, just between us, I hope to release my very first book this year with C.A. Varian!
